Of the 220 hectares of the vineyards forming the jewel-case of the Vosne Romanée the "pearl of Burgundy", one-third produces the most illustrious Grands Crus: of Romanée Conti, Romanée, Romanée Saint Vivant, Richebourg and La Tāche, not forgetting Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux.
These famed appellations rub shoulders with the Premiers Crus, possess a remarkable softness and are renowned for their bouquet of red or black fruit, their discrete tannins and equally unobtrusive acidity. These are highly aromatic wines, the best of which rival many Grands Crus.
