The 300 hectares under the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation produce no Grands Crus, but some forty rich, heady Premiers Crus with a strong temperament. Le Clos des Corvées plot, at the entrance to Prémeaux, is bordered to the west by the flat stones of the "chemin des dalles" paved track, unique in the Côte d'Or department. This track, used in the 10th century by the monks of Saint-Vivant-Sous-Vergy, follows the line of an old Roman road.
